I understand the grain of salt. More so since I'm reading posts about guys running 5k down the road and trying to compute that into my VE chart.....

I was a thinking that it will all be built in some stainless to help keep the heat in, and some header wrap. I bought my primary off a guy who is using schedule 40 and he said to just build it out of that, but I wouldn't mind it being a little sexy too. Then again can't see sexy with clothing (header wrap) on. One of those can't see but at least I know its there. I'm fairly proficient with a tig so it was a thought.

JQ should have a better opinion/first hand experience with the gates.

Taco........he's not running a little ol' typically tweaked 12mm ve.

Levi ran an external gate with his twins...

We talking 14mm or what?

So?

You're still not going to convince me that a VE of any caliber is throwing enough fire at enough RPM that a 1.5" hole can't handle it. Shit, my twinset would barely spool with 4 of the manifold flanges leaking through cracks you couldn't see. It depends more on his nitrous shot than anything IMO.

Yes 14mm.

I'm not saying it will have gas, but if it does not reach my goal for it then I believe that is my next step.

That leads me back to the question of, will too much gate hurt without gas?

Some food for thought, Hiney's running his 12mm pump, not "typically tweaked", and 6x16's and AFAIK the internal 'gate setup on his S300g performs just fine. Isn't the internal 'gate on the 351 a really nice one? That's what that junker drag truck guy is running, with a freaking HT4b blowing through it, and he's made it this far.

May want to check out his giant thread, lots-o-reading here but he's not afraid to share info.

Yes, from my understanding too large of a 'gate will hurt performance. It would unload your secondary and not give it the exhaust it needs to compound the air from the primary.

The main point behind what I was saying about dual gates.............it'll more easily drive the primary at the right time.

One won't be losing the exhaust flow

Meh, I'd possibly plan for an external 'gate but I wouldn't get one unless I had too. Take it from a guy that's rocking a $270 engine dressup accessory as we speak.

No external 'gate if you think you can get close on fuel only. Check with someone with experience (search around on CompD) about 'gating requirements with nitrous.

Yes I have been fallowing his build since day one. Lots of her good information in there.

Pardon my ignorance but who is the Hiney guy you speak of? I don't get on this forum nearly as much as I should, but I think I'm going to switch since rotary pumps suck rear tit on Compd, and since the rest of the sites are threads about installing a hx35 and how too's on smoke screws. I'm very aware nearly everyone on here are on those sites so I'm not trying to chuck a rock at you or what is said over there.

Back to my orginal issue of checking Compd, the boys who talk over there have fire breathing 600+cc pee pumps turning 5k, spooling 66 on the manifold over ridiculously large primary using gas. I/we can't do that. I have spent hours on there searching for idea's and solutions and found lots of answers, just not sure the equation equals out in the end.

Does anyone have pictures or a link to pictures on how to do the exhaust housing on the 351. I found some information on doing work to the primary, but not much besides words on the secondary. I think I understand what they are saying but would like some pictures.

Found some information on the external gate, will explain after I confirm said information.
