Thinking about grinding a fuel pin Q's

Postby 1992gen1_fan » Thu Aug 15, 2013 7:36 pm

Hello, I recently bought a used stock fuel pin to do some grinding on. I plan to do a light grind for a bit more boosted fuel, so I want to keep the pin in the stock position as apposed to turning it 90* to keep pre-boost smoke minimal.

Looking for some good pics to compare to. Anyone have any pics of their handy work?

Also, for the life of me I can not get the stock pin out of the VE. The slide pin that rides on the cone moves freely but for some reason does'nt go back far enough to let the cone pin out. Theres a allen plug on the outside of the VE near where the slide pin is. Would removing that plug give access to the slide pin?

You'll have to remove the afc top, and then the afc lever in order to gain access to the slide pin.

Have you tried rotating the fuel pin back and forth in hopes of freeing it up?

Removing that Allen plug should free it up, for some reason I have to remove that plug and push my pin back in every time I mess with mine

True........... I was talking about pulling the pin all the way out.

But you might be ok with just pushing on the afc lever and thus "freeing up" the pin.

I'v tried turning the fuel pin, messing with the throttle and manual shut down lever and the pin still won't come out. It moves up and down freely, but only goes up so far. When I had the pump top off for the 366 install, I could move the slide pin easily in and out but it did'nt look like it cleared the fuel pin.

I'll try to back that allen plug out some, or remove it. Anything I need to watch out for?

Today I had some time to mess with removing the pin. I backed out that allen plug on the front of the pump head after removing the throttle lever assembly and that did let the pin out. Thanks for the replys :D
