injectors and turbo questions

Postby dgosney » Thu Aug 29, 2013 1:52 pm

I was wanting some opinions on some 5x.018 injector tips from dap. I plan to run a 64mm hx50 and I wanted to know if those would be big enough for that charger.

What do you plan to do with the truck?

2.4"is a little less the 61mm
2.5" is 63.5

So the 64mm is to big for either.

I know but there is only one pull I go to that checks for 2.4 and I dont care to run with them so I wont. Im going to need some kind of advantage to keep up with the common rails and p pumped 24 valves. Everyone that I pull with said they dont care if I run a 3.0 charger cause Im 2000 pounds lighter than them.

5x.018 IMO are going to be too large for what you want to do.

If you want to stick with DAP due to affordability (they use aftermarket, non bosch nozzles).....he does also offer extrude honing now as well.

I would recommend a smaller stick that gets extrude honed. Reason for this is too large of an injector just makes it that much harder to burn the fuel. (lower injection pressure)

What size of injector would you have honed and what do you think about having a stock set made to 6x.016s by harts?

If you want to do nothing more than pull........and don't care about street manners.

I'd recommend anything between the 5x15 on up that then gets extrude honed. On up just brings the price up of course.

I've never heard of harts. I have mixed reviews on our 6 hole injectors. I've CLEARLY and I mean CLEARLY made the most power with 6 hole injectors (so far). However, most....ok all builders for the most part will say that they have a horrible pintle design. They do have a tendency to be dirty. But I've seen it go both ways as well.
