62FMW - reviews.

Postby RCCUMMINS89 » Thu Aug 29, 2013 6:24 pm

Don't have a lot to add right now, as I just finally got done installing it and have only put about 10 miles on it.

Specs on the charger are - 62/68/.8 ALL BORG WARNER and runs a .8 gated housing a long with the "new" Borg 62 FMW (billet) wheel and their new "J cup" turbine wheel. This turbo also comes with Borg's upgraded thrust bearing assembly.

So far......it spools a lot faster than I expected.

It is definitely very lazy in 5th gear. Runs pretty darn hot in 5th even at the smallest of hills.

In the lower gears it is just SMOOOOOOOTH. The fueling and the turbo seemed to matched very well.

I haven't gotten on it yet (break in period - AND archery season starts tomorrow and I need my truck, I'm not breaking it).

But, it actually responds faster than my he351cw when you dump the fuel into it pretty hard.

The only thing I can find on it is 74#/min. Maybe someone else can figure out the cfm.

Tomorrow - most likely late.....I'll post up the map.

As far as price...... I'm retailing them at $1,550.00. I show $1,650 in the Member Endeavors area.....but I was able to swing a little better pricing last minute.

I just googled pounds per minute to cfm....

If what I read was correct it would be like 968 cfm. Pretty cool.

I got 1070 cfm

What I found was 1#/min equals 14.472 cfm.

Also, the BD Killer B (63/65/14) shows it flows 1060......which if you steal the "best flowing 63 wheel" it is 75#/min. So ?

Forged milled wheel means its cut from a forged blank . Billet means its cut from a solid block of metal. Forged milled wheel is better than a billet

Forging things is a violent affair. They take a red hot chunk of metal and pound it with a very large press a few times. I've seen chain hooks and shackles made. Also seen jet turbine blades and hip joints made. The blades were made in a 40,000 ton press. When that puppy hit, the whole building shook. 8)

Yes, t3 foot

I'm running 5x14.3 injectors that were then extrude honed out. (68lpm before, 77lpm after). I chose not to do all that much on the extrude honing.

Adding a little lift to the injectors now....see if it actually gains fuel or not.

Don't want to derail your turbo thread too much but what does lift do? Allow more fuel past the pintle?
