7x10 vs. 5x12 - SAC @ 59LPM

Postby RCCUMMINS89 » Sun Sep 01, 2013 11:33 am

I started a new thread for easier reading...................... old thread here: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=14832&start=0

Videos to commence soon..........

Fuel economy, exactly the same as EVERY injector I have ever had in..........18.6mpg on my "hunting route". Which is 50miles of freeway, which goes over a mountain pass, about an hour driving down mountain dirt roads and about a half hour through stop and go traffic.

So far these are identical to my 77lpm sticks, but just with a lot less power. They are a little bit cleaner, but not much on acceleration. They actually spool the large turbo a lot slower than the 77lpm sticks.

Running out of fuel?

It's the simple fact that the pump has a hard time breaking the fuel up that much. It acts the same as smaller injectors.

Here is a good comparison.........

5x12s......my truck will spin the tires at any time I floor it in 2nd, 3rd, and will light them up in 4th at 60mph.

7x10s.......won't spin the tires In any gear once I'm rolling over about 10mph.

I have a hard time saying this;

7x10 injectors are a better injector for those wanting near stock power but more responsiveness and better cleanliness.

If you are wanting to make go fast power......they are def. not the answer.

Yet they "flow" the same amount of air, that doesn't say much for the flow honing to me nor the measurement. It would have made sense to me if the only difference would have been cleanliness between the two with the flow the same. Oh well whatever

In other words, 7x?? Are a better work injector, 5x?? Are a better play injector?

Wonder of 6x?? bridge that gap but still manage to lean towards the play side?

I will say this, those 7x10s of mine would pull like a mofo. A lot better than what I have now,but I've a bunch more rpm out of these.

6 hole is by far the best hole count for our trucks........ only if someone would make a darn 6 hole sac, it would be a clean option.

6 hole vco will be dirty, all there is to it.

Has nothing to do with the measurement......it has to do with the injection pump.

For the same reason we have to use large injectors to gain fuel is the same reason we can't flow a lot of fuel while breaking it up.

In a p pump it would be a different animal. As would it be in a more stock truck........the ve pump can only move so much fuel with so much resistance.

:) I can say I don't understand fluid dynamics, hydrology nor the internals of an injection pump but you've never lied to me yet so.....I'll take your word for it.
