Thought all the 1st gens had a cut out one? Maybe somebody changed it already?
pete

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

I had the trans gone through when I first bought it and the guy that did the work said the early first gens had a solid one and later ones had the cut outs. I don't really know.

You guys really think I need a better one? I'm not going to be pullin a 10k trailer up a grade with my foot in it or anything.......I think my light weight is easy on the trans stuff even though I get on it all the time. Mild 2nd gens don't have problems with them.....the ole ve doesn't make tons of power. Maybe locked up in od + 60 psi will start breakin stuff.....only one way to find out

You can break flex plates with bone stock 6.5s so I think I would beef it up. I've seen tons of broken stock dodge flexplates hell even my donor truck had one when I built the Duck.

You definitely need a better flexplate. The stock flexplate is probably the most commonly broken part on auto first gens. It's only a matter of time, mine lasted about 40-50k of about 275 HP. I was particulary hard on it one night racing my brother and general goofing around, and it broke the next time I drove it.

60+ psi definitely likes to break stuff....BUT you have one major thing on your side...lack of resistance (lightweight)

Alright, alright....thanks to all you guys now I'm waiting on the ups guy. I got an sfi steel plate. After doing a lot of reading a billet doesn't flex and cost to much. Wouldn't a stock plate be a good "fuse" in the drivetrain, id rather break and replace that instead of an input shaft.

I like my u joints to be the fuse. Easiest thing to replace.

Well here it is. The plate is much thicker steel, less cut outs and the ring gear is double welded unlike the stocker. I'm sure I can't break this one. I didn't realize how cheaply made the factory plate is until I had something to compare it too.
