The hard truth

Postby turboram » Sat Oct 12, 2013 2:15 pm

Well people as promest I did some 14mm HR and 4mm cam plate testing and well the results are both exiting and disappointing . The pump with my dual feed made 600 cc of fuel @ 2000rpm and only 400cc without . so it actually flowed no more fuel than the 14mm HR alone without dual feed. But then at higher rpm the dog ears broke off of the cam plate , breaking the HR and tying up the pump then breaking the pump stand adapter :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x so there goes 1000+ $ down the drain.

So what can be learned from this? well to me this says that the 2 can never be used together and live, for I belive that the 14mm HR puts too much load on the 4mm cam plate as the 14mm had tons of stand time and lots of wot pulls with the 2.9mm plate before it was put in the new pump earlier today and looked like new.

I am sorry to hear about the results, but it is AWESOME you are out there testing this stuff. I pushed the limits of VE pumps with a LOT of help, but now you're taking it to a whole new level. Got the utmost respect for what you're doing now, with no fear. Hats off. 8)

Almost nobody realizes how much 600cc of fuel is....it's what a lot of 1,200hp 3.0-class p-pump trucks were running a few years ago.
