Think of it running too small of exhaust or too long of an exhaust. Running 2 turbos in its nature is more restrictive than running one and therefore the proper turbos/housings have to be matched in order for them to flow correctly.

Now... that set up SHOULD (depending upon actual injector choice) run clean and cool. HOWEVER, it would of spooled a little faster and ran harder with a small S400 as a primary.

Many folks have replaced their S366 with S472 chargers in other applications and gained a faster spool, and a lot more power.

OK, I am going to revisit this with Gillette
Not too late to ship the turbo back and get the right one

HOWEVER, it'll run "good" with that set up.... it's just not ideal. It is also a set up that would be very hard to make 400 on. If you don't like how it runs, call them and see what they would recommend to change it.

Update:

I am into the painting of the cab mode in preparation for the return of the bed to it's rightful place.

I checked out that turbo combo I bought since so many had an issue with it. I talked to a couple of turbo experts that sell/rebuild and create twin kits. Both thought a 366 over a 60mm H1c would work fine especially with the injectors I am using. Both felt I had north of 400HP capability, especially considering the water/methanol. Both thought it would be an EGT friendly setup and one stated that that combo was the exact twin kit he already sold!

Not discounting the good information and experience here, but I am going to bolt this on and see how it works. I can always step up to a 400 series if I need to.

THe truck build out continues on a daily basis. I suspect many here are following the build over where I post it since I can see sometimes 20+ guests logged onto the thread.

Anyway, when the cab is done, probably this week, the bed will be painted and installed. When that happens, since the fenders are off, I'll pull the head and ship it off for mods, then start on the front suspension while someone whittles away on the cast iron

Flyin, I don't know if you ever found them or not, but here's the part# for the upper transmission mount bushings.

I finally got some paint on the truck:

http://www.duramaxforum.com/forum/diese ... d-519.html

I'm moving right along.

But I think I'm going deeper, as in a lot deeper.

Even though the engine only has 171K, I am going to pull it and give it the full treatment

Probably go P-pump, max out the A518 just because it WILL work and I don't want to build yet another driveshaft for the RH47 swap.

The truck has gotten pretty radical, haven gotten a custom snorkel setup, roof rack and a ton of other stuff.

Looking for someone to partner up with to do the engine and trans...

Lots of things happening on the truck

You'll have to check it out over on the build thread

One major significant change is the engine

WHile going through the process of talking and planning the VE motor build, I ran across a fresh build 600 ish HP P-Pump 1995 motor.

I now own that

I'll sell my VE motor and all those performance parts I accumulated for it
turbo upgrades
compound s-366
injectors (+120)
dynamic timing
B&D pin
some other things I can't recall

Or I'll keep that motor and freshen it for an upcoming square fender Suburban project...dunno

The A518 will get the maximum treatment.

I'll think about changing over to 4.10's but I'd like to hear some opinions about that

My 3.55/3.54 truck now runs 37" military tires. It will obviously have well in excess of 1000 ft/lbs
It will retain the 518. The 4.10 gear puts it in the sweet spot for 60-75mph, whereas the 3.55's have me toolin' around at 1350RPM...

Anyway, like I said, lots of things happening over there...

No, and I asked several times

Gillette is great, I'm definitely not saying anything negative about them at all, but dealing with them as I did, I was sort of "Layered" away from the injector shop and could only get second hand information. I finally gave up. I know I can measure them myself so it's not as critical an issue.

PM me your email again and I'll take the pic for you
