First turbo upgrade???

Postby GO OVRIT » Sat Nov 17, 2007 5:33 pm

So from what it looks like, my 92 w250 is probably the lowest HP on this site  I've done the basic pump mods (fuel and smoke screw), have a 4" turbo back with an aeroturbine, and a K&N filter. I picked up a 12cm wastegated housing, but I'm not sure what to mate it with. (the h1c, hx35, etc..??) Its a daily driver with some heavy towing here and there. When I sell my 93 dually, I'll get some injectors and want some advice on that too. Thanks, Mike

you should of got a 14cm or a 16cm, the 12cm is to restrictive and it really raises ETG's when towwing, you shoulg get a Hx 40w or an hx35w and a set of pods or a set of 370's from new era, and then you will have a 350ish hp truck perfect for towing and a bit of fun.

if you have a 5spd the 12cm is great but with an auto you would want a 14 or 16 if you wanna stay on the cheap a hx35 is a good low dollar towing and mild performance turbo you could also try and get an hx 40 with a 16 or 18cm housing at a diesel engine core place around my area one goes for less than 300 for one in great shape

Can I go with a straight hx 40? I've seen talk of 35/40 hybrids. I've been pricing both on ebay for awhile now. So I guess the 12cm should go on ebay. Thanks, Mike

ya 12cm on ebay is a good idea
and get the 8 wheel hx40
i belive the 35/40 split is just to get faster spoil and i think the 8 wheel(intake by the way) will be good enough
