rebuilding a 351cw

Postby DodgeFreak » Thu Dec 19, 2013 9:12 pm

Hey, guys I'm rebuilding the 351 using a hx shaft and I think I've ran into a couple problems.

First one is where the turbine seal rides is a lip and the hx center doesn't have that lip. 2nd is the compressor seal looks like its completely gone and it has ate the edge of the retainer just alittle. will the hx retainer (not sure if that's the correct term) fit?? It looks almost identical to the cw.

Also There is 5 little snap rings and I only remember taking 4 out. I took out and installed the two inside snap rings for the bushings and the two outside ones. where does the 5th go??

I have a pic of the turbine side but not the compressor side. Thoughts would be appreciated before I go much further.

I am pretty sure only 4 small snap rings are needed.

Thanks! Is there supposed to be that lip on the turbine side for the sealing ring??
