No, that is not true. The spacer may go under the ksb, but still works the same.

The timing spacer does 2 things. First, it allows more travel by spacing off the blocking plate (with ksb, or in your case an actual plate) and allowing further travel. Second, it takes some pre load off of the timing spring and thus allowing a faster timing advance.

So it goes between the pump and the engine?

It goes underneath your plate, where the ksb usually sits.

So is this spacer worth the trouble to install on an otherwise stock engine? Looking at their fuel pin and spacer along with a 3200 gov spring to help wake up my truck.

Yes!

IMO, the spacer and the 3200 rpm gov spring are the best basic upgrades one can do to the VE.

Sorry for not knowing more about these pumps, but can you elaborate or explain more about how this spacer works? I'm all for easy upgrades to my truck, just like to know best I can what I'm doing and what the piece accomplishes

This is one mod that sounds like it's hard to top. I'll try one some day.

I know it's an old post but I'm glad it was brought back up. I've wondered about it and now I know.

How so? Does it seem hard to top? It seems like moving the pump toward the head would be the mod that is hard to top.
