Is a piston driven lp just a p pump lp?

Postby Joecochrane » Fri Jan 17, 2014 10:33 pm

Looking into doing a piston driven lift pump. Are they just a standard second gen pump because if so I got one and I would assume I just need to put a regulator in front of it right?

You can either regulate a P-pump LP or put a lower pressure spring in it, which is what the LPLPs are. They're all the volume of the HPLPs without the pressure.

RC sells springs you can put in a HPLP to convert it to a LPLP, then if you ever convert you can just put your old spring in.

I would assume it's a minimum of $50 savings over buying a regulator, let alone all the other fittings and whatnot it takes to put a regulator inline. Then again, I'm running a regulator. It all works the same way.

The Cummins and Delphi low pressure piston lift pumps have smaller plunger than the p pump piston pump.
