I dont know, every person thats measured a 7.3 intercooler for me has had a different width...The intercooler is supposed to ship out tomorrow or Tuesday, so by the end of the week I should be able to find out for sure...Im pretty sure I can make it work without swapping radiators---the downflow cools good enough for me, never gets above 185 on hot summer days.

I would apriseate it,

Just realy curious how it's shaped compared to the 2nt gen that I'm tying to do.

Thanks i Do appreciate it.

I can't be exact because it's installed but, as close as i can tell, it 37"(center of inlet to center of outlet) or basically 6" on ether side of the radiator.
If yours will fit around the radiator. yours will be easier on the drivers side piping.........2nt gen intercooler outlet come out under the battery tray.

What diameter is the P/S intercooler inlet/outlet

3" inlet/outlet. Just today, after months of searching craiglist, and finally getting an intercooler, a 2nd gen cooler came on there for $100.

Yeah, with shipping it was $140.00 for mine. It had a slight "wow" in it(Came out of a wrecked truck) that i had too straighten out with 2X6 and a small sludge hammer.
These intercooler are tuffer then one would thing. :thumright:

So....how does the pwerstroke cooler compare to the banks for a first gen. I've got a banks in my dually, but want to know which is better before I go to the trouble of switching it to my single wheel truck.

I'm not sure i can answer it in full but,.........
two years a go i started out to install a banks intercooler had talked to the sales man a banks, had down loaded the instruction for a 91 non intercooled.......intercooler How to....
well i Clarence the grill, the upper valance, drilled 3" holes in my radiator support(Because i didn't have enough cash to buy it until my tax return in a couple of weeks)
So now I'm ready!!!!!!!!!!Call Banks for there intercooler kit with there BIG HEAD actuator ext. housing.

Have my credit card in hand, tell the sales man which kit i want and he said grate and to hold for a minute.......................
He gets back on the line to tell me that they had discontinued the first gen intercoolers and and that he was sorry
Find a kit on E-bay............Nope they buy direct for Banks and had got the same answer and had to be told yet a 2nt time that I'M NOT GETING A B   ANKS KIT.

Any ways, the the 2nt gen intercooler that I'm installing has the same center of inlet to oultet as the banks setup............... except the 2nt gen inlet/outlet is 4"..........cant us a hole saw now........I already drilled a 3" hole previous.

The 2nt gen intercooler is bigger......or taller then the banks at the same width.........so i would say it's going to be a better intercooler.
As far as the P/S intercooler........That's why I'm interested in rbrettctd P/S specs ;)

Got all the tubing pieces ordered today. Ordered Cummins Beige engine paint and 3" exhaust tubing from summit for $40, all the bends from airflow for around $75, and the silicone couplers and clamps for $80 on ebay. total cost right now looks like itll fall a shade under $400 intercooler included. Not bad for the power Ill be able to get out of some more pump work....also got the 3200 to install still.

If you already have a Banks, the gain would be minimal.
