i dont see why so many people have problems with htier factory brakes? all i have is new rotors, turned drums, wagner hd pads and shoes, and a new master cylinder. Unloaded driving stomp on the brakes from 70 and you will go through the windshield pulling a 13000 14000lb boat even on hills with a trailer brake i slow down just as good as my friends 01 dodge dually.

There is a whole thread on here about the hydroboost switch. Try using the "search" feature.

I never realized people had any problems with the brakes on these trucks. I've had 6 of them and haven't had the first complaint. All of mine except my dually have had a min. of 35" tires and have pulled my Jeeps through the mountains/towns/interstate with no problems.

Did you do away with your ABS valve? My rear brakes didn't work for nuthin, pedal was mushy, soft. No amount of adjusting or anything fixed it. I had to replace the rear brake line, so I bypassed the valve above the axle and unplugged the ABS brain behind the glovebox.
WOW! Good brakes, firm pedal, stops quick and straight. Big difference! I recommend this first to anybody with brake problems. ;)

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

I recently replaced all the rubber/flex lines with SS braided and upgraded the rear. The ABS works just fine. :)

Are those caddy calipers? How about the brackets and rotors?

That's a sweet brake set up! Couldn't have that here, the salt would have it rusted and hanging after the 1st winter!

Some people have no problems with their ABS, and swear by it. Others, like me, will never have it again! :D
