high idle after #366 spring

Postby mitchk » Sun Feb 23, 2014 10:47 am

So i got the 3200 spring in yesterday and oh man did that wake her up. the only thing is i cant get the idle down below about 1000 rpm. i was reading up yesterday and all i could really find just said to reindex the throttle lever on the shaft. is that the proper way to adjust it or could there be another problem causing the high idle. The idle screw isnt even touching the throttle lever anymore and when i put the throttle lever on the shaft i had to do it acouple times just cause of ocd and i wanted to make sure it was staying in the right place. thanks

Consider loosening the linkage between the throttle-lever and the linkage bellcrank (the tie-rod thingy). That may be all that's required.

However.... what set of marks do you have your indexing on? Should be on the 2nd set for factory tuning.

I just adjusted the throttle rod and that's all it needed. Got it right around 850 or so.

RC- what do you mean by second set of marks. This is where it was befor I took it off

I noticed that the high speed stop screw is still in there, pull that sucker out. Have you checked to make sure you are getting full throttle travel? That in itself can lend some decent gains ;)
