Porting and Polishing

Postby cmann250 » Sat Apr 05, 2014 4:30 pm

Some time in the near-ish future, I'm going to set a primary beside my HX35. I have the turbos and I'm considering picking up a spare manifold, so I thought about doing some porting. I also thought I'd wallow out the hole for the gate in the HX35.

I think it's more of a time than money thing. So where and how much do I take off? Also what bit should I use?

Thanks in advance.

Start with gasket matching, and go about 1.5-2 inches in. You can get a collection of carbide bits for the big stuff, then cartridge rolls and/or abrasive pad thingies for the end polishing. I say get it as shiny as possible
