Didn't notice a difference, but I don't have pre turbo egts from before and after

Whether it's worth it or not is up to you

What's your goal?

A stock manifold with a port and polish might be cheaper. However the things I like about Steedspeed is the waste gate mount.

IMO, no they are not worth it... except for the gate. I run a steel afe bladerunner. I noticed a little more throttle response, etc.... but my egt gauge actually told me that it made a huge difference at wot.

So I never really cared how much they got for one but I just looked it up. WTF! I could build a few stainless steel headers for that much. Now in my mind steed speed is top of the line and you get what you pay for, but that's alot.

Maybe I should start building headers and intercoolers kits?

I told myself I was going to build one for the price of one. After I priced out the metal and my hourly wage I was loosing money to build one. Time is a valuable thing when you are as old as I am.

To my knowledge it's the only manifold you can buy that gates all 6.

If I didn't need my external gate then I would not have went with them. I agree the price and wait time is crazy for what it is.

Although there is a reason you see them on lots of the big name trucks. I honestly don't think it's just "because that guy is running one and he always wins" either.

I don't know much though. Just an old man that drinks a bunch. Take my ramblings with a grain of salt.

My buddy with a HPCR truck went with a stainless non gated. It's a nice manifold. Holds the heat in very well. We noticed a difference after it heat soaked and were driving it. He paid 500-550$ for it I think? ones with the gate port add 100$ or so and only gate the rear 3. I so believe I read somewhere that the steed out flows the next closest thing by 10% and a stock manifold by 30%. My head has extensive work done. For the above reasons, and advice from a few guys that build competition trucks, I bit the 790$ price tag and 1-3 month wait time for mine.

I do notice that with my steel manifold.... that it takes FOREVER for it to come back down to 300 degrees after running. It holds the heat very very well.

Mine showed up. Just over two months. Not the typical wait time. My order form was wrong, not sure if it was my fault. Nevertheless it all got worked out.

Have you installed it yet? Did you see a difference?

I installed it in my closet with all my other parts. Sorry I won't have any reviews for you for some time. Hope to have my whole build done by years end. I will have changed way too much on the engine to give you a good review. All I can say at this point is that I cost a bunch of money, took lots of time to get. BUT, now that I have it I'm happy I got it.

To be honest I feel it is probably over kill for most of the 1st gen crowd. I'm after something myself so I went with it. They come up used from time to time on other sites, for "cheap" but you have to be Johnny on the spot because they go quick.

What gate do people run with these? I'm looking to purchase one of these soon as I have plans of compounds, but I also like the ability to use an external wastegate over the small and restrictive stock Holset setups. I was thinking a 44mm would work I know it'll need a small adapter to fit the larger 2.5" v-band, but that is fine with me.

I had a 38mm 'gate on mine and boost would stop right now when it opened. A VE engine doesn't turn anywhere rear the RPMs to overwhelm it.

what turbo and boost level. I'm looking to go hx35 as a single for now with plans for compounds later I need a new manifold at the moment so was thinking going with this and a 50mm gate so I have all the base for the compounds.
