Timing must be 180 off.... ...that sucks dude. Hope its just the key.

Well.... when I'm able to, first thing I'm going to do is crack the injection lines and see if its squiring fuel from all 6. Then I'll pull the gear nut and inspect the keyway.

I honestly don't think it was the key... as it didn't' smoke or anything. It would just immediately shut off if I applied throttle. It did that two or three times, the last time it just died and wouldn't restart.

I want to say thats the key. It grabs enough to make it run, you have had problems installing it so it could have been weakened, and you said it popped while trying to restart which sounds like low timing. Also the random turbo barking may indicate timing issues.

I think the key is only for installing the pump in the correct position, timing-wise. It's the torque on the pump shaft nut that keeps it there.

It's not the key.... it'll only pump fuel out of number 2 and number 6, and its a dribble at that.

I bet the pump builder is on high powered stand by :( how would a cam plate take a dump in such a short time? Does that 14mm H&R put that much more pressure on it.

I know nothing about it by the way, just know about inspecting parts before assembly......in a trans or engine

You do know I built the entire pump right?

One of the common failures in a 14mm pump is it snaps the ears off the camplate..... I expect either a camplate failure (they were not designed for high pressures) or the h/r assembly itself..... it'll be a while (week maybe) before I can pull the damn pump anyways.

Finally tore this pump down tonight.........h/r seized.

I'm talking, I can't pound the rotor out with a 5 pound sledge hammer seized. That is from piss poor machining IMO. Optimum case pressure, means it wasn't being starved. Just chillin' down the highway, it got so hot it seized up.

The new engine was getting my old reliable 12mm pump from the get go....... (remember this is the 14mm pump I blew months ago.)
