Looks like flat file time. I think that bevel on the housing flang was for the pipe to rest against.

Flatten her out

That or I'll take it to the machine shop and get it milled...

The rest of the exhaust is got me wondering, I need two inches of room for the pipe to move rearward for the gated housing, buuuut I have 3/4" of room between the down pipe and the block plate...

Yep, get it machined. Industrial 40's can have two different downpipe flanges, the flat flange the entire aftermarket uses, and the beveled flange you have there. Make sure you have the machine shop mill it just like the machined flange you have pictured. Otherwise finding a clamp that seals will be a pain.

Well, I said to hell with it, I found a Holder backing plate for it with the normal flat face. It was cheap enough to not have to mess with the machine shop.

We will find out in a week or so when the back plate comes in. I did some more figuring, I'm gonna have to chop the heck out of my down pipe to get this turbo on and still line the rest of the exhaust up. I'm just going to run about 12" of flex just past the 90 on the top so the bottom 90 stays where it is, as its securely fastened to the block plate.

I'm gonna use it for sure, instead of fnaggling it together, I'm gonna use the correct housing back plate so I can use that flange I got from you. It'll make a cleaner installation...unlike everything else on the turd

4" pipe oughta slide right onto the OD of it, I would think.

Orrrrrr, if you've got some time, I could try to find some barstock and turn you out something. Pay you back for the FSS housing.

I guess we'll see when the rest of the parts arrive. We'll get squared up one of these years ;)

Why is that weld-on flange so long? It looks to be almost an inch, all it needs to be is the V and enough meat to weld a pipe to.

I bought quite a few parts from those guys for my twins, some were pricey but they all worked great!

I forgot to post this earlier...the flange is just over 3/4" inch. Fits tight on 4" pipe.
