Tires.

Right section?

Having a problem with my current tires not going up in smoke (hankook mt 265/75r16, on stock wheels). Want a wider tire, wheels I can buy. Don't care about looks. Looking hard at the nitto 420's.

Ultimate plan is to 4 link the rear. Not sure about the front just yet, possibly the same as the rear. Lower it down from its current height. Keep all 4 tires under load close to the road.

Thoughts, suggestions welcome. Truck is just a toy now. Has no other purpose besides keeping a smile on my face.

Get the 420s. The ' is not a part of the Nitto 420s name FYI. File that with useless information. Just something I find interesting.

On lowering the front. You only have 2.5" between the pumpkin and the oil pan. I would notch the oil pan or BFH it. However, the oil pickup is on that side. If you're gonna 4 link the front, go through the extra pain and get a driver side drop axle and NV271 (241?) transfer case.

For 20" tires, I like Eagle Alloy's 027. Chrome is more my thing than black.

Any wider of a tire will reduce the ability to spin them over on pavement because there is more contact surface. Narrower tires at higher inflation has a smaller surface area, decreasing the amount of "work" needed to spin them over. Clear as mud?

I don't think the power to spin is going to be an issue though.....

How wide of a tire wheel combo can I stuff under there? Don't really like the looks of them hanging way outside the fender. I can stomach a little but not half of the tire. If I have to do that then I might as well get wire spoke Dayton's.....
