I agree... probably a boost leak.

Found one leak. Was able to build 50psi with the wastegate line disconnected.
I'm thinking the gate is creeping open so I'm gonna put my spring style gate on and go from there. If nothing else I'll swap put my 7x10s for 5x16s

I have no real world experience, but I've read that spring gates are not the best in a compound set up.

I agree boost leak sounds like most of your issues.

Spring 'gates are the go-to in a compound setup, IMO, the main factor in the is drive pressure, so if you can reliably control it you're golden.

Honestly, drive pressure is the main focus on any boosted application, it's not boost that blows he'd gaskets, it's cylinder pressure. Sure you can push in 40psi, but what is a portion of the remains of the last combustion cycle didn't make it out? Between whatever pressures are residuals and the timing you're running, who knows what the cylinder is fighting against.

Boost pressure is a small overall number in the overall working pressures of an engine, so I've never paid them much mind.

Installed my spring gate with difference in power. Clears up at high rpm and egts top out at 1300, so gonna get bigger nozzles (5x16s). One thing tho it has a bit of low boost smoke and my star wheel is pretty tight. How can I get rid of this? I know it's newbie question but it bugs me. I jumped my timing 1 tooth plus a 1/16 also. Just would like smooth clean power and no lag.

I think a needle valve in the AFC line may help to slow the low boost fueling.
