Ok I'm in the tuning process on my 92 and I was wondering how much should the wastegate open on my he351? When I apply air pressure to the gate the rod moves roughly 3/16. Now when the rod is not on the turbine gate lever the rod moves about a 1/2". I'm wondering how does it need to open to allow enough air flow to the ht60 to be effective.
I have my wastegate hole drilled to 1" and I tried a spring style wastegate but it didn't help me. I can only build 35-40psi with a built 12mm pump (200-220cc) with the smoke screw turned all the way up and star wheel is almost to top as well. Also have 7x10 sticks. The truck will build 40 psi no problem with just the 351 but gets hot very fast.
