Dang that's a lotta turbo. I just picked up a Garrett 4202 for mine, finally should make some good fuel numbers

OK, I found the math for calculating the pressure ratios of each stage of compression of the heap.

Keep in mind, I need to run the same test for each change and note the same area of each graph to try and keep things apples to apples. The blue line running straight up and down is the reference line. All the numbers for each sensor are those at that instance.

I can't remember the exact engine RPM I ran up to last night. It wasn't very high. Still gotta dial-in the tach and speedo in the logger.

This evening, I made a 3rd gear pull, up a hill, from about 40ish to 80ish. I think I got off of it around 3800 or so engine RPM. With that, I'm referencing those numbers just before i let off.

Anyhoo, yesterdays run suggest my initial pressure ratios were:

Primary = 3.84 (41.8psi)
Secondary = 1.28 (58psi)

Folks have suggested I tighten the waste-gate so as to drive the secondary a little harder.

So, I tightened the WG three turns I think it was.

This evening's test @ 3800RPM(+/-) says:

Primary = 4.31 (48.7psi)
Secondary = 1.57 (65psi)

Perhaps tighten it a little more . . .

It might be that you need bigger exhaust sides.

Read 1/2 way down through page 3 for a better turbine sizing explanation.

Well, as it stands, the back-pressure isn't too bad at its extreme in the above plot. Further, the peak back-pressure right there where I got off the throttle, is somewhere north of 3600 ~ 3800 RPM. That's where I might be racing. Otherwise, down around 3400 and below, it looks like it's at a 1/1 ratio or better. Which is more where the truck is driven, even cutting up.

One of the initial goals for this mess was to get a lot of air, quick, to deal with the low RPM fuel the VE's good for. It seems that goal is realized. 8)

I dunno. Still got a lot of tuning to do. Gotta dial-in the tach and speedo on the data-logger to make better informed decisions, yadda, yadda, . . . I talked with Micheal at ISSPRO yesterday. I've gotta do things we talked about.

Anyhoo, got the AC running. :D

See the new compressor!?

Lots of trueisms in your points there. I'm just saying my p-pumper made 601 with 65psi, so airflow-wise you might already be past the fuel you can use. The quick spooling and low EGTs and everything else seems gravy, just not sure if turning it up more will help more....Same truck with 5x12's I made 432rwhp 57psi boost 62psi drive, plugged the gate and made 404rwhp with 65psi boost 99psi :shock: drive. I'd leave it alone and get back to a track! Yes. I do see the A/C, it's right next to Waldo :mrgreen:

Jason, I've found where I miss-typed what turbos I have.

It's two S362s blowing into an S362. NOT two 363s into one 362. oops.

Planning on doing any dyno tuning? Any comparisons on spool up compared to your old setup?

It'll be a month or so before I dyno it. In the mean time, the data-logger has an 8g 3-axis accelerometer. A revved-up seat-of-the-pants gauge. We'll see.

Drove it 148 miles to the coast just now. 40% 70~75mph, 40% 55~60mph, and 20% 35~45mph. With the exception of a show-of-arms with a late-model Challenger, it was calm, law abiding driving. Stopped here and there to check for anything out of place, . . . . and drove on.

Had the AC on perhaps 80% of the drive. A little over a quarter tank left if you believe the stock/OEM fuel gauge. :D

Gonna see if I can sort out the data-logger tach tomorrow, . . . . sound side. 8)
