I don't think it really matters, you just flip them so the seals an stay submerged in oil and not dry out.

I put mine on "normal". Bilstein puts their stickers on the other way though. I put mine on the way you did... so that every single person didn't tell me I put them on upside down.

I got my feet wet building toyota crawlers and Bilsteins are the hot ticket for them. And every install I've seen/also been told, the resevoir side is up top, something to do with oiling.

All I know.... I am not in the least bit impressed with them. I'm still under shocked and it just stiffened the living sthi out of my suspension.

Really? Made a huge difference on my crawler, and a good bit of difference on the cummins. Toyota on 40s drives better than the tow rig.

Maybe you got some that were valved differently.

I rode in a buddies F350 with Bilstiens and it was the smoothest OBS F350 I've ever rode in. I know my dump truck rode like a tank with the monroes on it

Hey BC, just a quick diversion back to turbos, but you should check out these dyno graphs from the test on my 95 if you haven't already....remember, fueling stayed the same, it was just the turbos that were different.

I find it amazing that when one saves some money, something/someone finds a way to lay claim to it just as you're fixing to start the project.

The three ton compressor in the 17 year old Trane XL1500 heat pump locked up this past Sunday. It won't budge forward or reverse. :dayum:

I ended up replacing all of them with some standard hydraulic shocks (ProComps). MUCH smother ride. :)

Not really. Still Bombing the new heat-pump.

While the old heat-pump threw a rod in the 3-ton compressor, the 1.5-ton compressor still operates (parallel compressor system). With that, the heat-pump still operates albeit at a reduced capacity . . .. . but with a lot more supplemental electric heat than otherwise.

In the mean time, I've harvested the components (damper assemblies, motor, and sensors) of the full enthalpy based economizer from the old system, and am just finishing installing same in the new heat-pump (all custom of course  ). The new system, like the old, has 10KW of supplemental/auxiliary electric heat in the form of two 5KW assemblies. I've electrically separated them and installed outdoor air thermostats so as to individually inhibit the electric strip heaters (forcing the heat-pump to take more of the load). Insulated the hot-gas refrigerant line from the compressor all the way to the indoor-air coil (good for the heating mode economy).

Little mess like that. I'll most likely install the new machine in the next couple of weeks.

Got my folks a 39" 1080dpi high-def, wide-screen flat-screen TV this past Christmas. Installed it on the kitchen wall complete with relocated power receptacle, etc, yesterday. They like it a lot. 8)

It's now that I need to get back to this project, and figure out what spinny-things I'm gonna use, . . . and manifold, . .. and waste-gate, . . . .

Can you be a little more specific on the new shocks you put on? I'm going to replace mine here soon and was going to do Bilsteins, but not if these pthers are better.
