HX35 + 16cm2 Non-Wastegated ?

Postby Diesel » Wed Oct 29, 2014 11:57 am

My stock HC1 is getting tired. I have it upgraded with a 16cm2 non-wastegated BD exhaust housing. What I am thinking of doing is installing that 16cm exhaust housing on an HX35. This should fit ok. Will I gain any extra air by using the HX35 combined with the 16cm housing or will it be identical to the stock HC1?

It will be close to the same. Leave the 12 housing on the HX, it will make a noticeable difference. ;)

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

I would recommend leaving the 12 on the hx. The 16 is only going to make it less desirable of a turbo.

If i leave the 12 on will the downpipe still fit without me having to cut and weld anything? Since I have stock injectors should I just leave the wastegate actuator but not run a line to it so the wastegate remains closed?

You might as well hook the wastegate up... but honestly, you don't need it with stock injectors.

You don't have to mess with anything about the downpipe. All you'll need to do is unbolt the downpipe from the bellhousing and shove it back a little bit.

That depends on which housing he has. My hx35W required me to buy a factory V-band outlet flange to bolt to it so it fit with my 4" diamond eye downpipe. I am running my HX35W in a 12cm housing with the wastegate welded shut (was like that when I bought it) with stock Non IC injectors I hit 30 PSI and max out at 1000F EGT's towing 7k up long inclines.
