thinking about getting injectors worked on

Postby 1992gen1_fan » Sat Dec 06, 2014 9:10 pm

I'm currently running SDX 5x12's. Theyve been good injectors but thinking about trying something different before too long.

I've got a couple options, I could send the 5x12's in to get ballenced ect. Or I could send my stock size 6x009's(?) In and get them extruded and ballenced.

I'd like them to perform same as or better that what I have now, but I want them to run clean and efficient. Absolute least idle haze possible and keep the performance. The 5x12s are fairly clean but do haze a bit sometimes, I think they're getting dirty or something.

I'd really like to get the stockers extruded but don't know if they'd compare to what I have now and be clean and effecient. :?:

What would y'all recommend.

Are the 5x12 VCO or SAC? "V looking tip, or a funny ball at the end"?

I think they have the "v" tip, so VCO? Id have to double check, been a while since I looked at them.

Honing those 5x12 VCO will haze. But honing your stock 6 holers, won't make much more power (very similar) to your 5x12 do now.

So your pretty sure the honed 6 hole injectors will be similar to the 5x12's? And most likely still be fairly clean?

If your injectors are in good shape, they will be clean.

Fatty is running some 6x13s we honed, and he says they are still very clean... at 80lpm.

Ok , they should be in good shape. I think I probably put less then 10k miles after getting them rebuilt and seemed good shape when I took them out. Just VERY restrictive... Lol

I'm not even pushing the 5x12's to their potential I don't think, so if the stockers can be reliably worked to the 5x12 range than that's probably the rout I'll go. 8)

The 6x13 I got are just as clean as my stock injectors were at low/no boost. When I'm really getting on it they're plenty smoky though.

After I get the injectors back, what size copper seal washers should I use? Seems like it had some fairly thin washers but I cant remember what size had best luck with on the stock injectors.
