new (to me) truck, new turbo set up

Postby swank » Sun Feb 15, 2015 9:55 pm

Took a bit (had the truck seven years or so now) to get it around the block once. This is my favorite part so far though:

Still working on the controller, but it is well under way at this point.

A few little general things to finish up on the truck before I go register it, can't wait!! Soon to be back in your ranks!

Very nice. Hope to see it working with a controller soon.

Here's another video of the truck actually running. I'll have to get somebody to help so the engine noise doesn't overpower everything. It sounds way cooler when you're a couple feet away from it.

So is it the 64mm 451 or the smaller one?

Ok, so a bit bigger turbine side than the 351ve. Very cool setup for sure. Are you going to set it up for exhaust braking as well?

That is the plan. And also have a feature where it auto-cycles the mechanism every time it returns to idle or something, so that it scrapes any soot buildup off the center section.

That's a good idea. I ran a lot of heat through my 351ve, and was constantly cycling the exhaust brake. When I took it apart after my s400 swap it was pretty clean. Just a light coating of soot that's normal on any diesel exhaust component
