3.2MM camplate on way.

Postby RCCUMMINS89 » Mon Mar 30, 2015 1:17 pm

With the help of Oldestof11, we (ok he) found out a part number for a 3.2mm Bosch camplate. So I decided to bring 2 of them in. Going to check the ramp profile on it and see if we can gain a little more fuel.

If anyone else is interested in trying the other one, let me know.....

Woohoo!

Honestly, my internet ninja skills met a lil green leprechaun who showed me the way to a black hole beyond the internet that brought me to....

Ok, I found a pump number with it, Eric found the part.

We shall see how the ramp is and how it does in the upper rpm fueling.

The pump application that this comes from: 7.3l inline 6. 12mm/3.2mm ve. 5x10 injectors set at 278 BAR, 90cc of max fueling, 158 peak hp, and 2300rpm governed.

I wonder if the added rpm we use will cause and issue?

Have you had one of those 4mm camplates in your hands? I've kind of been wanting to try one of those. I was considering doing a 4mm on a 6.4 cummins project I have planned

Went and picked up the cam plate today. I've got to have my Bosch supplier double check the numbers. As I'm showing the exact same amount of lift on this cam plate as the factory one.

Double/triple checked everything. I don't care how you swing it, the stock cam plate is measuring the same as this 3.2mm cam plate. Bosch lists ours as a 2.8, but it measures out just slightly under for me (3.12ish) and this 3.2 is measuring exactly the same for me.

So........yea...........

That's strange, I wonder what is different for it to have a different part number.
Sounds like Jon screwed up, situation normal there.

Jon provided me with the literature of an engine that contained a pump that had a 3.2 mm cam. (Sounds like, my brother's friend's cousin's fiance knew a guy).

The pump is listed as a 12/3.2 Where as ours is listed as a 12/2.8 Either way...... I think I'm going to try and swap it.

The ramp profile on ours is slightly different. This one is more of what I think would help give a faster rate..... but it is very minor stuff.
