3.2 on top.......you can see where the 3.2 LOOKS like it is cut deeper. But when you actually put the caliper to it, I'm getting the same measurement.?????????

Either way, the ramp profile is really close to being the same. However, the 2.8 isn't quite as flat in the valley.

Now the "straight" part in the valley measures the same..... but our factory one starts raising very mildly, and then goes into the ramp. The 3.2 is dead flat, and then an immediate ramp.

How are you measuring? Are you measuring with a straightedge over the high spots?

Yes... And then I tried a variety of different ways. As the inside of the plates have a little more lift than the outside, so I was thinking of maybe it was a difference in average. Nope, I kept getting the same.

Now, for those who don't know.... .4mm looks about the width of a dog hair. I know it's more, but it is a very tiny amount.

Wasn't trying to be funny. I actually came up with .0157, so I'm not sure why I worded it the way I did.

Inches I understannd. I can put a size in my head to .015, but I have no idea what .4mm is.

It'll be interesting to see how it affects performance.

With everything going on, I don't know how soon/when it'll be tested.

the new engine is finally finished. but it may be weeks before it is installed......and then I'll run my old 12mm ve pump as is.......and then swap it. I'll probably bench them at that time.

Cool, I was going to mention that maybe kta would be interested in bench testing one. Would be nice to see if there is any difference in cc output. If not, maybe it would affect driveability in a good way..

How wide is the little boss you're judging the valley depth by? It looks way wider on the 3.2 plate, definitely not a good way to judge. Honestly, none of the outer castings look alike, I doubt there's really a good way to get real measurements with a set of calipers/mics unless the backside is exactly the same.

Like you said, .015 is nothing, even a piece of hair under them would throw your measurements off.

What tools/surface are your measuring with?

Laying a flat edge across the tops and using the caliper to measure between the flat edge and the valley. To avoid error, I've measured back and forth about 20 times.

Boss seems to be the same, but it is hard to measure it..... not much of a lip to go off really.

These are reasons why I'm going to just try it at some point...... The average slide pin to the longer one we sell, is only .5mm. That was enough to change my peak boost by 3 or 4 pounds IIRC. Without changing the fuel pin depth. Now I don't know what that equates to in slide collar movement, but it shows how much minor stuff can change things a lot.
