New o-ring question

Postby rbrettctd » Mon Dec 17, 2007 5:50 pm

Im looking at a head that claims to be cut for firerings. Im just gonna do o-rings. Is there a difference in the cutting for firerings and o-rings, or just the fact that the block is cut for fire?

Yes. Would that be oringed? It is a reman, would $800shipped be a fair price for an already o-ringed head?

ya thats good, if its the guy on ebay i belive its a portied and posish head i could be wrong, but you still have to put the hd springs in and if its not ported or polished the thats an extra 400bucks or more, 800 isnt bad, but i think you can get him down, i could be wrong but after the auction ended the sent me an email saying i could buy it for 500 bucks see if you can get him down

Alright thanks. I can put the HD springs on myself so thats no big deal. Most new ones are $5-700 before theyre touched.

WELL?.....

I found out in the latest TDR magazine that the head needs to be VERY smooth on the mating surface. Local yokel who milled my head left it pretty rough. I'm looking at the possibility of a new head next fall, and would like to see what I can get for how much/ little.
