I've seen oil pressure gauges run the way Eric described. It's been working great for several years now. I still have to hook up my cobalt series digital gauge. Hopefully with it being a pressure transducer it'll work well.

I bet not. The pressure spikes may beat the transducer to death, I have heard of it before, but no 1st hand experience.

I'll probably go with the needle valve and air brake line

I'm running a glow shift gauge (I know not the best but it is working) I ran the snubber banjo bolt, 4ft of hyd. line with a needle valve right at the sensor and I haven't had any problems where a lot of people are saying they have issues with the sensors failing. I ran it with a piston pump for 1k miles and its currently on my crew cab with the diaphragm pump after 3 years and its working fine still.

I have a mechanical gauge with a needle valve and the gauge reads normal I have it closed so far.

DF, the 4 ft of hydraulic hose help act as a snubber, plus the needle valve.

That's why I ran it lol. I wanted the sensor to last as long as I could. It may be longer than 4ft. I ran it from the banjo over to the brake booster and then it stops by the battery.

Do the sensors usually fail due to being pushed over their limit, or is it something else? If it's the former then the fact mine is a 100psi sensor might work in my favor.

Got the isspro mechanical gauge, it looks like there's a snubber in the inlet of the gauge? I still need the needle valve, no local parts store carries them in 1/8".

For time being I'm using some "nylochem" boost line. Says max WP of 420 @ 70* F........don't know what that means.

For my fittings what sealant should I use? I've got anti sieze and permatex permashield. The permashield is resistant to "all" automotive fuels supposedly, think it's alright to use on the clean side of the fuel system? It's non hardening.

The thing to do with fuel systems is actually to find nptf fittings. It's a finer thread designed to be used dry. Otherwise I prefer to use teflon tape with pipe fittings.

There isn't one built in...I have the same gauge in my 91, it's not extra accurate any more as it got ran for a while without a snubber, then it got pegged...hard. It still works decent, well enough that I can tell when I get some restriction on the fuel filter...like when it gels up.

Use liquid pipe sealant. If some get's free internally during assembly, it won't clog an injector tip/orifice like the tape will. I use Loctite 567, aka pipe dope

That WP 420 @ 70* means working pressure of 420 psi at 70 degrees of temperature. More pressure or temperature and it will fail. So for 15 psi of fuel at 70 or 80 degrees it might be ok. I think I would run it far away from heat sources and check it often.

I would use pipe dope also. Read the label, it will tell you if it is fuel compatible or not.

Thanks gentlemen. I looked up the chemical resistance chart for nylon (I think it's the primary component in this line) and it gave a B rating for kerosene diesel and oil. What line did y'all use?

Is it the regular 567 or the 567 PST?

Couldn't get either 567 locally, so I got some permatex 56521. Hardening, withstands fuels and oils and 10k psi

That sounds like fun.

On another note I have my fuel pressure gauge hooked up, and pressure is steady without a snubber, so I'm going to go out on a limb, and say running a sensor good for more than 5 times the pressure I'm running will keep keep the transducer from dying.
