How to make it go fast

Thanks. What causes the extra case pressure that just bumping the pump 7 degrees doesn't?

Or is it relying on the higher case pressure to just advance static timing 7 degrees?

How long do most people run the KSB hot for? Just to race?

Now you're asking for more info than I have, lol. I read it on here what happens with the KSB on so the info is here someplace, I just have no idea where.
I just kick mine on when I'm playing with it, I'm not sure what others do.

Is it rough on stuff to flip it in the middle of WOT? :D

How much timing do you have Pete?

IIRC it's set at 1.85mm. I had it up to 2.25 but it was rattling pretty good. Factory setting is 1.25. I don't what that comes out to in degrees, I have never seen a conversion chart for a VE in all the years I've been playing with 5.9's.

Ellis, did you actually try that calculator? 2.25mm = about .12 degrees! I don't think that's quite right. ;)

If one wanted to keep base static timing at or below 17*, and sweep to 27* with the spacer, how much power could be attained roughly? Basically, how much rwhp could be made with 17* static timing?

I think it's more of a geometry thing, not an engine timing app.

Anyone know how much the dealer would advance the p pump trucks when a customer complained of "low power" back in the day? My instructor has a 215 horse p pump truck he bought new and took it in (long time ago) to get them to bump it ;)

With a 215 pump it'd be a good idea to make a stop in the front of the afc housing to prevent full rack travel. That way it doesn't back the timing down. Apparently that makes quite a difference with everything else the same.
