Pop pressure

Postby Mike T. » Wed Dec 26, 2007 4:30 pm

Has anyone increased the pop pressure on there injectors? Just wondering if there would be better atomization with a bump in pressure. I'm sure there's also down side.

Thanks

Thanks c. king

I was just thinking if a slight amount would be a benefit.

My injectors are set to 3800psi. Only difference I have noticed is a reduction in MPGs, if that is the cause. I think stock pressure atomizes pretty well. If you want a finer spray, try EDM or extrude honing. You really dont need to put any more stress on the VE than is absolutely necessary. If someone will give me the directions for how to build a home pop tester, I am considering lowering mine to 34-3500 or so.

ANother reason (and the main reason) you cant use 2nd Gen injectors in a 1stGen engine is that the threads on the bodies are different sizes, and the lines wont be a direct fit.

Thanks Daniel,

Just thought it would atomize the fuel better and maybe clean things up a bit. But I guess that's not the case.

So would there be increased RPM capability if you lower the pop pressure?
