Exhaust housing hx40 to hx35

Postby ellis93 » Mon Mar 21, 2016 11:35 am

Looking at a 62mm hx40 turbo with an 18cm housing. I do not want the 18cm housing but have a hx35 12 and another 14cm housing.
My thoughts here......I want to machine out the 35housing to fit the 40. Is it do-able?

Seems there are two different exhaust turbin/shaft assemblies for the hx40. One being 67mm the other 65mm. One being 12blades the other 10. The number of blades are not specific to the mm diameter either. I've found both diameters in either number from multiple sources.
And since I can not get the seller to message me back.....I'll give this the finger, and move on to a rebuilt 35 with a new turbin/shaft and a 60mm compressor.

I'm just wondering how that open T4 housing will spool.

Probably quite slow. Looks like there's the option of a .91 divided t4. that'd spool quicker than the .88 undivided, but it still wouldn't be that quick
