I'm glad it was of help. :)

Welp, motors together and back in the truck, coolants and oils are all topped off just waiting for my new injectors to show up from THD. During my quest to find the best T-stat I ran across a guy on ebay selling custom 12v T-stats that supposedly cure the large swing in temps during operation. He offers two versions of 180-195* so I went I the 195. Upon inspection it doesn't have a jiggle pin? So I guess ill let ya all know how that works out, is short time I hope! My crewcab International sure can get cold in the winter with no carpet or insulation so hopefully this helps! Here is a link to the ebay add for anyone who is interested, and he has them for both 1st and 2nd gen trucks.

I'm glad you got the engine in. Eric's pretty good about getting his product out, pronto.

That fella with the custom stats, . .. . . .. .. I put a genuine Cummins stat in my mess. With a cold engine coming up to temp sees the temp rise to the point the stat opens, the temp drops, then gradually rises to one temperature, and stays there. And, it has a air vent with a wiggle-wire (or loose rivet). I can't say why others would have an issue, I'm not in their shoes.

I'm glad the fella's an engineer. It explains a little. LOL!

He may be an engineer, but he doesn't know history for crap. Tenneco never owned Cummins, only Case. Lots of fluff in there to sell you a thermostat from the looks of it.

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

My last thermostat was from Cummins and would always fluctuate between 150-180 and from what the internet says has been an issue. Figured I'd try something new although it does appear Cummins has come out with a newer style T-Stat but it's only $35 and easy to access of in unsatisfied.

As far as injectors I talked to Eric earlier this week and hoping they will be here soon. Had to be sent of to get flow honed. The anticipation is killing me. And to think I have to break it in for a couple hundred miles before I can really pour the fuel to her!

Got my injectors last night! Cranked the motor over till I got oil pressure and oil out of the rockers, injectors installed and it fired up with a bump of the key. Did the 5 min cam break in while looking for leaks with a minor fuel leak out of one return banjo bolt. I was surprised that the timing advance didn't make it harder to start but it definitely wanted to run away while I was cycling the RMS during the cam break in, not sure if that's because of the timing or because of the bigger injectors or both...

During the test drive it was impressive on the how responsive the turbo is in the lower RPM range, I was pretty nice on the throttle but from what I could tell the boost PSI is down noticeably as well. During the motor rebuild I went with a new set of autometer gauges and found my pyro was unresponsive and my volts are all over the place with wild pulsing headlights. Originally my lights pulsed but nothing like now so it looks like I have a few gremlins to track down before I continue the engine break in. After driving my 4 gen for the last year I forget how terrible these trucks handle, at least mine with 37's and push pull steering, I probably looked drunk going down the road.
