HE351CW instructions

Postby cougar » Sun Jul 01, 2018 11:50 am

Okay, I've decided to do the HE351CW swap and I'm trying to find out what parts need and how to do it. Didn't get much help from the search box.

Scrapped that idea all ready. The more I look into it the worse it gets. I need something that is more direct bolt on.

Just switch to a 12 cm housing and you'll pretty much have the same performance as a 351.

Right now I can easily spike my EGT over 1400°. I red the HE351 will drop the temp by 200°. That is the only reason I considered it.

Look on eBay.....those super drag hx40s are dirt cheap and if your creative with the hx housing you could have a killer turbo....cheap.

I will pass on the Chinese junk.
I did find a couple U Tube videos on the HE. Ya, staying away from that one. Thinking of going a compressor upgrade on an HX35.

Your money, your truck........ran one and beat on it with a 24v for over 11k miles with zero issues. Kid that bought the truck is running the hell out of it as well, can't be that much junk. Not telling you to purchase a 200$ brand new one but you shouldn't bend over and grab your ankles for the same schit in a different box. Out of three compressor swaps I've done only one had a wheel in it that I thought was better than the "Chinese junk" turbo compressor wheel. Two GDS kits and one HTT by the way

I'm over 1400 before 50 mph with my stock 35 now that the pump is maxed with a 3200 spring. Which was the "gooder" wheel ellis, the htt?

I probably have 100K combined miles between the 2 trucks on my GDS 60 H1C. I'm leaning toward putting a 62 on an HX35 if I can find one.

Not the first problem with the 60 gds compressor working........just out of date tech and a schit cast wheel. Got one on the dodge and has been there for years.
If you have the time (and patience) look on eBay for the extended tip style wheel in your desired size. They're formed much like the wicked wheels for the second gens. Only problem with them is they are the snap ring housings used on the hx35s 96/97 and newer dodge stuff.
