Diamond Eye 4" exhaust

Postby cougar » Fri Nov 16, 2018 10:14 am

Finally got the Diamond Eye 4" exhaust installed. Haven't put it through its paces yet. Did notice better throttle response and maybe less smoke. Different from what my 91.5 did, it fell flat on its face. Need to get it out and exercise it some.
Next is getting the 60lb valve springs in. That will be after Thanksgiving.
RIP 91.5 W250 5 speed. The great experiment.
92 W250 HD 47RH with Compushift. Upgraded H1C to 62/60/16, Scheid Lightning VE, 60# valve springs, DAP 7X.010 injectors, 4" DE exhaust, home made cooler tubes.

Sound quieter, maybe the old muffler was getting bad.
For the note takers in the bunch.
I had the Diamond Eye exhaust put on my 92 a week ago and finally had the chance to put the screws to it. Not quite what I was hoping for. Main reason for doing it was to lower my EGT. It did, but only maybe 100° under hard acceleration. It did improve throttle response, It did improve power, and it did reduce haze at idle (pretty much gone), and smoke during normal driving (pretty much gone). I also noted a drop in boost from 45 to 40 and that during normal driving my EGT is higher by about 100 - 150°. I couldn't hold WOT to find out what the max EGT would hit because the tires would break loose.

Pull that lever on the floor towards the back of the cab and try it again.

I don't do 4wd on dry pavement. I'll wait until I put my summer tires back on.
