KTA - HAVE YOU CHECKED A NEW SET OF GEARS TO SEE HOW HARD THEY COME FROM SPICER???

I HAVE A GUY IN FLA THAT IS GREAT WITH GEARS

THE GEARS THAT I RUN IN MY BIKE ARE TOO HARD FROM THE FACTORY AND IT WILL DO THE SAME THING (BREAK EM) SO HE SOFTENS THEM TO A NUMBER HE KNOWS WILL LIVE AND THEY DO

I DONT KNOW WHT THE NUMBER IS, BUT IF YOU ARE SAYING THEY DONT LIVE IT COULDNT HURT ANY TO LET THIS GUY SOFTEN THEM UP A FEW NUMBERS OR MAKE THEM HARDER OR WHAT EVER HE RECOMMENDS

NAME IS MARK AND THE COMPANY IS R&D TRANSMISSION FT LAUDERDALE

Life is nothing but compromises, if you soften a gear so it doesn't break it wears a lot faster, that is fine for stuff that only goes 1/4mile at a time I doubt your gears see 250miles a year running on the strip. The easier solution was to just put an open diff in it. The spiders in the open are a ton bigger and stronger than the limited. You don't really need a limited slip to pull trailers on black top anyways.

FWIW 800rwhp # 2only is the most I have seen out of a fairly stock bottom end 12V P-pump(only diffrent cam and head work) without some bogus correction factor. It lived less than a month drag racing it before the block split.

To do what you suggest I would build a 500rwhp #2 only truck in valet mode, then spray it to 1000rwhp with valet off. It would probably be possible to tune that setup for decent driveability. The 1000rwhp #2 only trucks life expectancy can typically be measured in days rather than years.

ohhhh, so it is the spiders that you are tearing up

locker

how you gonna hook 1000 hp w peg leg?

don

ps - i like your 500/1000 idea but dont see how i can make it streetable with no afc and 500 hp? wouldnt that mean lazer cuts and quick cam and anything else they have for the pump and fat lines too? from what i hear i dont want .120 lines and the 093 lines dont make that much difference

what tune up would you recommend for 500 hp w/o afc?

With a 913 pump calibrated to max with the rack set at 18mm to keep it out of the retard notches, and cut delivery valves and holders and stock lines I have done 612rwhp with a s400/s300 hybrid. I am fairly certain the 913 could do the 500rwhp with minimal mods, but I don't think it could support a 1000. I think a tuned 160 or 180hp pump might be enough, it would be real close.
I would do ddp4 injectors, maybe get them to make some slightly larger for the spray, get a 66 or 71mm S300 with the big turbine, and add an external extra wastegate, get a 160hp pump and max it out with cut delivery valves, 4K springs, opened up holders, do a bunch of head work and a camshaft, stud and fire ring it and you should have a recipe to do the 500rwhp pretty easy. I don't have hardly any experience with nitrous with that setup, but I have seen similar setups and they were right at the 1000rwhp mark.

Yes I saw Jeff Garmon's drag truck run 550rwhp #2 only then they sprayed it with NOS to 870rwhp and it had a HTT 66 on it.

913 pump is capable of tons. Local guy around here runs a 913 with stock plungers and barels and cam, 0 plate,5x18 injectors and laser cut dv's, 600+ with the silver bulit and hit 1100+ on three stages of nitrous. He had the pump stand tuned to 650cc's. It already blew up the silver bulit, a full billit trans and a rearend in about 5 months. The motor is completely built as well. I would use the dually to tow with as you already figured out the first gen is much easier to work on. A ten plate, boost elbow and some playing with the starwheel will get you over 300 rwhp and be a good driver. Gonna need a turbo and clutch to haul at that level though.

You guys are probabely gonna hate me but bomb the 2nd gen! Just got my 500cc pump back and truck flat boogies. Ive heard of scheid gettin 600+cc out of 913 stock b and p's and cam. Hopen to hit 875 at schied next year on the spray but who knows. But put .093 holders, dv's( I run full cuts but there not super for the street) gs's and have it bench tuned and you be making some power if you get a charger to get plenty of air. Tow with the first gen. I also run 5x.018's but lately its been less than fun to start but I run a good amount of timeing for daily driving the truck to.

i am thinkin about puttin the ve motor and the trans with the gv in the dually and towing with that

and putting the p-pump motor in the 1st gen, putting the transfer case back in it, altering the wheelbase, maybe putting a short bed on it (or no bed) and going crazy with it

if dana 80 wont live behind one of these things what will?

don

ps - with 500cc of fuel (and nos) i dont see how you wont reach your goal

(and then some :) )
