and who says a VE wont take RPM's......8000 to be exact...... :hs:

The way that tach jumps around though, who knows what its really turning??Looks like the governor is full cut by 5000rpm or so, thats like 10K on an engine though if the tach is right!!

Looks like a 4bt or VW pump, not a 6bt.

It is a vw or pegot (sp?) pump, (can tell by the gov spring setup). That would be Engine Rpm, as it has two reflective marks on the pump pully where the laser tach is pointing, and pump speed is half engine speed, therefore 2 marks would make the laser tach count twice, for each rotation bringing it to engine speed.

As far as the speed it turns, well with no pump action, no fuel, no load, for a few seconds... I bet you could turn it to 20000 rpm... :roll:

However we do spin VE pumps to 6000 on a regular basis in vw's. With 9mm heads.

the gov springs look just like what is inside my jetta .... i took it apart today to play with the springs ....... well and grind the fuel pin , and 2 hours latter i'm still smiling .
'93 w250 .... stock ...
curently removing the dead moose parts ....
