No, I havent done it in a dually, but I have done it in a street truck with a poor little gm 10 bolt. I welded it a few years back and the welds are broke, but I caused an interference and it is still locked together. The truck has a BBC and is faster than normal, but nothing exotic. I think the only reason that it hasn't broke is it can't hook up, no towing, and no load in the bed. I think if it did hook it would explode.

I think it depends on the truck, If you tow or carry loads I say no. But if it is a pulling truck or something like that give it a try.

Another factor is safety, the truck will handle poorly around corners and you must be aware if you plan on driving the streets. Given the fact that it is a dually you will have a lot more tire scrub and possiably break axle shafts or not be able to turn in parking lots or intersections very well.

thats the prob with the truck right now it wont hook up. wednesday night went to the track and leaving the line with only 1 psi of boost and rolling into the throttle its blowing the tires off and it went 14.12 @ 95 mph..
im thinking that if i can weld the rear up i should be able to run 13.90 maybe faster..
i will prob never tow with the truck or carry any loads with the truck.

If your a good welder or you know one it would probably hold up. You might want to look into buying a spool if they make one for your axle, there usually relatively inexpensive and pretty much unbreakable. 8)

Yes. Unless your a very good welder I would suggest taking the carrier completely out to do it though.
