my buddies has his old exhaust housing of his 98 dodge. hey put a banks on. will that housing work on my 92?

Yes, and it will work very well.

Gotta move the downpipe back and plumb in the wastegate to your boost gauge.

sweet, what is it that i could expect from the swap? i am new to the 1st gen. im hoping to pick up my first truck tomorrow. also i don't think i have a boost gauge. the truck is stock. do i just plumb it in the outlet side of the compressor? thanks for the help

The easiest place to hook it up is on the side of the intake midway. There's a plug you can replace with a fitting and run from there to the wastegate actuator.
92 W250 ext cab 518, big sticks, a-1000, PDR HX40, 4" exhaust w/aeroturbine, pump tweaked, K&N filter Tims Cooler tubes and 3" i/c, gauges

i have been doing a little research and for what i can tell the housing is a 12cm. some say to small some say go for it. came of a 98 with an auto.
what do you think. i do know that going from a 21cm to a 12cm must be a huge difference.

It should be fine. But before you play with the pump, get a pyro.

Its really helpful when asking these questions to fill out your signature with information on your truck. If you have an auto, thats pretty small, but if you have a manual it will work good.

good news i checked his housing it is a 16cm!!
92 4wd 180k auto, 366 spring, turned fuel pin, loaded
first diesel!

Bolt on and enjoy then. I will say though that is not a stock housing from any 98.
