Rokentech advertising the 4mm cam plate.

Postby MikeThomas » Sun May 11, 2008 8:31 am

Ok, who is actually running one? Everyone seems to be all talk around here with their custom pumps, but none are running them? Whose actually running one of Roken Techs 4mm camplates or 14mm heads?

I doubt the ones using them are gonna post about their R&D successes let alone their failures. Those west coasters are and have been for years tight lipped about their R&D. Not everyone is like KTA when it comes to sharing it.

I don't understand why people are so tight lipped about that $h!t. It's stupid. It's not like bosch is gonna give out a prize for the top HP VE. Dumb. We all have the same goal in mind. POWER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It seem like ther is a lot of "bench" testing here with no real experience and Roken-Tech is banking on the idea of potential HP, but have nothing to show for it.... None running it eh?

For centuries, knowledge has been (and still is) power. People who could write back in medieval times (and before) were often given all sorts of stuff, just because of what they knew, or could record. If you could read and write, you could be a very rich man.

Fast forward to the 21st centruy. Not much has changed. People put a LOT of money into go-fast R&D, and break a LOT of parts til they get it right; then it takes time, money, and fuel to see if it will work long term. When someone gets it right, they try to recoup their R&D investment. I dont blame them for that. I would probably be the same way. If I find a new way to get better performance from doing things a certain way, I'm not going to give away my secrets to let someone else get rich off it.

The notion that all knowledge should be free and shared with the world like a social disease at an orgy is baloney. There are some things that deserve to be kept in tight circles.
