:? I'm trying to find the best set of injectors for my app. i knew you guys were the ones to ask. I have a non icd 90 and i upgraded the turbo to one from a 94 i'm building a 4" dp with 5" exhaust, pump tweaks, BHAF, old smokey pin, you know just the usual upgrades. ;-) Im gonna use the truck for daily driving and some towing of some not to heavy trailers. Im wondering what you guys think would be the best injectors to upgrade to. I've been looking and some 370's and some other ones from geoff diesel. Since its for daily driving also i dont wanna lose mpg's (especially at 4.50 a gallon) sorry for the long post but wanted to make sure i got everything.

Stick with the stockers, they'll provide plenty of fuel for that turbo.

well i plan on uping to about 35-40 psi boost, eventually intercooling, and all the other stuff i said. eventually i wanna be around 350 HP. :thumright: will the stockers really handle that much efficiently at least? Remember please that the key word is EFFICIENTLY.

The 370's are nice injectors but you'll need more air to cool them when towing than a 54mm compressor. Maybe throw a compressor upgrade at it and you should have a nice effiecient truck.

I like my DDP4's, but they're kinda pricey $$$$ I still get about 20mpg at 75mph with no o/d......

The 370s aren't really much bigger than your stock non i/c sticks. 370s from somewhere like New Era will be more efficient though. From what I've seen, 300 is about the peak for stockers. So, if 350 is your goal, the 370s might get you there with enough air.

If you go with 370's you need at least a stage IV upgrade. That's what I went with and it is right on the edge of toasty with the trailer. I'm putting in a new ATS exhaust manifold and a 3" air horn from a Freightliner. I think it will be ok then. We'll see. ;)

The air horn is the last piece before the cylinder head that sits on top of the grid heater. It is only 2-2.5" on the factory air horn (depends on if it's a non-IC over the cylinder head type or IC points at the driver wheelwell type). The 3" model flows more air/is less of a restriction than the stock one for the IC model trucks. The 2.5" and 3" refer to diameter of the opening. The 3" model also matches up better when using 3" intercooler tubes instead of the factory 2.5" tubes (especially with a 2nd Gen or Powerstroke intercooler swap).

well for that i'm building my own airhorn. I do have a none intercoolered truck and i noticed that was a small restrictive peice for air flow. So i figured that my fab skills are pretty good and i have access to a laser jet to cut the pieces and a good mandrel bender so im gonna make mine. so hopefully that will help. I've also thought about, and what do you guys think about it, building my own water to air IC until i can get some money for a air to air. Obviously it will be better then nothing but i just need to lay it out and make that. hopefully i'll be able to rebuild the truck soon and get it in on the road. Thanks guys allot for the info.
