Very Scary

Postby VEfreak » Mon Jun 02, 2008 5:55 pm

I'm sorry, this does not concern diesel directly, but it concerns this site. I posted this where it would gain the most attention.

NET NUETRALITY

please show this video to whoever you can or sites like this could die.

I'm gonna buy a 1 terabyte Hard drive and catalogue all the diesel sites.

It was a video about internet nuetrality and how the major isp's want to make it so we have to subscribe to websites, like cable tv. The bigger the interent package, the more expensive. To go on sites outside of these packages, like this, would cost extra. This is supposedly planned to happen around 2012.

here is the real link. sorry

This is huge money already. The cummins forum sold out to one of those yuppy companies. Why do ya think that there are all those google/yahoo adds on there. Don't worry, they'll still make their money and they won't charge you for your forums unless all the adds disappear. Thank God for 1stgen.org and the DTR. No google adds yet!

Net Neutrality

Postby Ace » Tue Jun 03, 2008 6:58 am

Yawn. It's like everything else. The Capitalists will try to make money off anything and there's always too many all-too-willing zombie dimwits ready to hand over their cash because big-time company X convinced them they need Y and Z. The Internet's cool, I like to watch TV and even listen to music (gasp!). But if costs too much or they piss me off, there's always other stuff to do. Fork em'

I personally wouldn't doubt them. If any of these companies can make an extra dime, even if it sacrafices most peoples happiness, they'll do it. Plus, you can't just write off the internet. Yeah there are other things to do, but the internet is extremely helpful. I know i've learn alot already about 1st gens and diesels in general from the net. It's awesome to see such brain power collected all in one place. Like this site.

seems to me its not much different than satellite tv. back in the early days one could get a big dish with a power mover and watch like 500 channels, most without commercials and interruption (i miss watching sports with no commercials). then someone figured out if we scramble the signal people will pay us to unscramble it. it eventually did away with the big dishes altogether.

it could happen on the internet too. all it takes is some computer geeks with nothing else to do.
