Well i got the 6 x 18's in the truck thinkin i be goin pullin this weekend and i doubt i be goin anywhere.
Thing is a total dog - before with the pods i could smoke the tires at will, and hit 50 psi no prob
Now even torquin against the brake i cant spin the tires, and it only hits about 45 psi and it isnt very quick about gettin there.
nothin else has changed on the motor
thoughts?
too much fuel, need more timing, what???
thanx

Could you could be making so much more power now that you are driving right through the converter?

just a thought.

What else did you do didnt you swap turbos?

no - havnt had time to put any of my new parts on yet
however you may be correct on the convertor as it doesnt seem to take off right at all and stallin against the brake i am actually luggin the motor - as in it wont come up on rpm at all and it wont build boost doin that either - maybe 5 psi wheras before you could make 20 psi against the convertor/brake without tryin and lettin off the brake would allow 30 pi almost instantly
its wierd for sure.
what does happen when a convertor gossouth - keeping in mind it isnt a lockup convertor as it is a C6 trans

Bigger ain't always better. At least thats what she told me as she limped away LOL. Who is Joel? Sure they aren't bigger than .018? You should see a huge gain over POD's with 6x.016-.018.

I think your converter is gone, my converter was new and awesome with the 6.5 in it and my stock cummins, then I got the big idea to put on the twins and 435 injectors, man I was dissapointed if I tried really hard I could light up the 36" tires but the converter was almost glowing!!!!!!!!!

hmmm - maybe

so besides the convertor - do the big injectors need more timing to make up for the huge increase in fuel?

i do know that when the turbos finally lite that the big huge black clouds get grey

really they should be awsome, expesialy with your twins, mine are awsome, and i havent any issues with any others,
But with the 6x18s i could of told you you were going to lose power with out pump mods, just ask KTA he said 6x16s(i think) made the most power with stock pump head, and i have bigger injecoter then you do
How does it run in high RPMS, mine runs way to rich, and starts to mis
give me a call tomorrow

so maybe a wee bit more timing? I am still at the 1/8" bump

No it doesnt miss at all, just soggy and until the turbos lite it is black under power, with a lite haze the rest of the time

If it is super black under full throttle you may have too much fuel. Too much fuel can put the fire out and have a cooling effect....a buddy I know with a p-pumped truck ran 12s then switched to lazer cut delivery valves (lots of fuel) it gave the truck too much and he slowed all the way to 14s. He then put some nitrous on it and ran 11s. Sounds like ya need more air, either from turbos or bottle.

I'm thinking that it's putting out the fire so much that the twins aren't lighting properly. A big set of twins on a stock Cummins engine should see like 70psi, not 45psi. P-pump dude had a set of twins too.

in the posts you can see where i said i dont have any of my new equipment installed yet
I am still running all of last years gear including the hx35/hx55 twins on a bone stock motor. Pump is turned up as the only mod besides the 1/8" timing bump
The only thing i have changed from last year is the injectors
The heavy black smoke clears up to a grey fog once the turbos lite.
It is just soggy/slow gettin there.
both boost guages (one on each turbo stage 25/20psi) and drive pressure (about 1.75:1 so 65psi dp) guages read the same as last year except that it only gets to 45 psi instead of 50 psi
Yes i bought bigger turbos (my new secondary is a prosteet 66/71/14)to clear up the smoke n make more power - but like everything else - one step at a time
