I have never been in this to break the all time records for the VE. Just enough to make my local Bosch rebuilder eat there words. Lets say 400hp. But for now i am going to have pull back for a while. I decided to go back to school and get a degree. Meaning, I wont be able to drive the truck and go to school both. I just put it in the paper today to sell. Once I am out of school I am sure I'll be getting another truck again.

an a1000 is a great pump its what KTA runs. go to www.aeromotiveinc.com and check out some of the other killer pumps they offer. they have one pump in thier catalog that will keep me from havin to buy 2 king sumos.

The truck came with a 24 valve that fried 3 injection pumps in less than 60,000 miles. The guy got really ticked and pulled the 24 and put in a 12. I just found out recently that they even had fuel pressure gauge's and regularly swapped out lift pumps to no avail. hows that for weird? :o

not weird at all...

if you read the 2nd gen forum over at tdr all those guys with the vp-44(?) and electric lift pumps are having all sorts of reliability issues

its just weird that the previous owner didnt do his homework and put a more desired 215hp motor in it

more desired by some...i know, some of you guys are die hard ve drivers

He probably had the VE for cheaper, or (more likely) it was probably readily available.

i was thinkin the same thing

then thought about it some more...

if i was gonna switch pumps, i wouldnt want an electric one

but maybe something you learn in the 44 can be applied to the ve?

I saw photos of a VP44 tore down and laid out real nice on a bench. Completely different from a VE. It's a radial piston similar to a roosa master/stanadyne, only with electronic controls.

Thats not a leak, its the external lubrication system.
