want power!!

Postby T.winegar » Sat Jul 12, 2008 10:54 am

i have an 89 dodge cummins noni/c- 727 3spd auto. HTT stage IV compressor, 4in intake(amsoil air filter), 4in downpipe. i don't want to spend money on injectors, and want more power out of it. what can i do with it to see some more 'go'. i have grinded on the fuel pin slightly. not really even much smoke though. i also have a 3,200 rpm spring on the way.

ideas???

Do you have gauges and have you messed with the pump other than the fuel pin? You can turn the fuel screw for the easiest free power, but dont do it without gauges.

how much grinding on the 'foot', and where is that located at? i had the top off my pump tonight and saw a few things that may be what you're talking about. i'm not finished with it, so i can still get to it possibly...

With the top off the pump you should see a u shape metal with a small foot on it. It is held in by a pin that goes though the top and has two ball bearings that hold it in,one on each side.Take a driff punch and drive the pin,and ball out then flip over and drive the pin out the other way to knock the other ball out.If you pull a trailer or heavy loads you might want to take the whole foot out that way if its too much you can reinstall and you are back to stock.Just grinding a 1/16 off of mine added 7 lb of boost. That gov spring will do you good to :D

I took mine clear out. Very recommended for the hot rod trucks, not so much for a tow piece though
