...milage is not all that...

and this is the part i dont understand:

pulling the race trailer (22k pounds total) the faster i go the better milage it gets?????

gets 50% better at 80 mph than it does at 65

like 15 vs 10

wtf?

Really advanced timing?
Overly rich fueling at low boost levels coupled with a high-lag turbocharger?
Scramjet aerodynamics?
Torque converter stalling too high?
Speed-induced psychological delusions?

...Torque converter stalling too high?

I don't think it's a torque converter issue since both of his trucks are manuals.

Are these issues with the 92 or the 97?

wtf?

That's unheard of, to me at least.

Can I have that problem too?

if you are using the gear vendors unit then it is very possible that your rpms are to low at 65mph and out of the trucks peak torque(especially with the bigger charger) once your rpm is up at 80mph your back in the torque curve and making some power again. The other possibility as mentioned above is to much low boost fuel. Back the smoke screw and star wheel off a little and see if it helps. My truck made more power by backing off a little low boost fuel and gained milage.

i have heard of it before but i didnt believe it

believe it now cuz i am living it

gave up on trying to drive it easy for milage (was actually following my buddy in a toterhome from vegas to pomona) (he goes 80-85) and it did great. put it like this: truck was not quite full, drove around north vegas for 3 days 50 miles, drove from lvms to state line, stopped for fuel cuz i was not sure if it would make it to barstow flyin j or not and it only took 8 gals? now full as in the filler neck was full

this is great for my trips back east but i finally got a clean driving record (at almost 50 yrs young) and no way it will stay that way driving this thing around so cal

*talking bout the p pump truck
