What turbo are you runnin with 14mm head and 6x016 inj...

....ok I am gathering parts, (lol before I even have a 1st gen) but I think the setup I would like to run is a Single charger(twins come later) 14mm pump, 6x16 inj, 47rh, a1000 fuel pump, and some o-rings, port and polish the head, and a cam while I have the motor apart. I am looking for a solid 450hp to the wheels on #2 only and I might play with some nitrous or water and meth briefly, but I really want a solid 450 anything over that is well a bonus. And I was wondering what single's are people running. I do tow, usually I am not very heavy around 9k to 15k avg with a few 30k loads but thats simply around the farm, wagons and hay stuff like that, and I can crawl that since it off the road.

I built a few 2nd gen 12v's and my strongest was 689 but it wasn't fun on the street, I found 500 to be my fun lvl. I need it to be able to tow, hence the water and meth and twins later way later. But I would like to hook it a few times around here and be competive.

Will a 14mm pump survive daily driving with 6x16 injs? I am hoping from what I have read with the A1000 it should be fine. I have read some people making 450 with the 12mm pump.

i wouldn't dailer drive it. They just don't seem to last, except for KTA's truck. Shoot i probably wouldn't tow with it either but i guess if your just crawling it, it might be fine. Or it might be worse. RPM's will move fuel through the pump, which will keep it cool.

Well lucky for me KTA is from KY, I was thinking after reading alot about KTA's truck, that the A1000 fuel pump and regulator seem to be they key to keeping the 14mm alive. I also am basically trying to get the idea of the main parts, so i can devlope a plan on what to get first and go from there.

A 62/71mm S300 will do what you want power wise, and you can use it in twins later on when you decide to do more towing or street racing. It would be nice to be competitive in the 2.5 with 450hp, but I think you know that isn't really very realistic as it takes 550+ to be halfway competitive in that class now.

yes it does, but I just would like to atleast run decent. Thank you for the turbo suggestion. Again the VE is a completely diff animal for me. I would like to hook here and there but honestly I will not worry about being competitive until I can get 2 1st gens, then with what I have learned as well as others I will try. Ofcourse Jayer's has a strong truck and I seen his video at battle of the bluegrass in paris so I expect to see his first gen pulling around here. Will the 14mm and A1000 survive with daily driving?

I'd talk to KTA about that one. Most seem to live fine that aren't tuned within an inch of their lives, have enough pressure from the lift pump, and have big injectors. When I talked to him KTA said there are a decent amount of trucks running around in his area with 14mms and just piston lift pumps.

I hear the airdog 150 can supply huge fuel to your injection pump. And yes, huge injectors are key to pump life. I would go for 6x18's and have the pop pressure set to 3400psi like kta. If i was you i would talk to him and pick his brain. Like it hasn't been done enough already. :? :D

what you are describing is basically my truck. (see sig) I dailey drive my truck. It runs awsome. Don't bother with the A1000 just put an airdog 150 on it for a 2nd gen and be done. I run 6-18 injectors and a 64/71/14 turbo. I have more fuel then that turbo can support but take it easy on the go pedal and you'll be fine. I have pulled over 10K with mine (load only) and it pulled fine again you gotta watch your right foot and egts. Go for it you'll love it. If you only wanna by one turbo buy the 62 as kta said but if you don't mind selling it when your ready for twins go a little bigger to the 64 like mine. Also I would strongly recommend the cam it helped a lot with spool and egts.
