366 spring.

Postby outlaw5.9 » Mon Feb 02, 2009 5:01 pm

Is there anyone near Mcbain, MI that has put one of these in and is comfortable doing it. Or is it not as daunting as it looks. Does it make that much difference, seat of the pants. Does it make the truck pull harder all the way through the RPM range or just raise the top end.

It was the 1st mod I did to mine three years ago and to this day, still the best bang for the buck, IMHO. Made driving the Getrag almost enjoyable, if you can imagine that.

i was scared huh? when i tried to put mine in, but it was easy. its not near as bad as you think it will be. if you have the link to the instructions they are pretty straight forward...i dont remember where it is. if you need any motivation, go talk to a pump shop. i did, and he said it would be $500 for labor, and he didnt know what the 366 spring was but he would put it in anyways.

It will pull harder across the whole band, and wind higher. They aren't that hard. I was nervous about doing mine, but it was easy. I did a buddies since then and never even hesitated. Cakewalk! ;)

Rich, time for a road trip when the weather turns warm! You bring the beer and I'll put it in for ya. :D

Or wait until october and come down, I'll put the spring in, and the next day we'll go to SOP. ;)

BE SURE TO BACK OUT YOUR FUEL SCREW!!! when i put my pump top back on i did too many steps at once, leaving my screw in to the new spot and cracked my fulcrum lever. lots of money to fix, and the truck was out of commission FOREVER it seemed!

be careful, and do it in order

There is absolutely no reason to pull the pump to install the spring.
